Bart Galbas Engagement and Wedding Photography

Engagement portrait by Bart Galbas

Photographed by the historical Wrigley Building in downtown Chicago on Michigan Avenue and Chicago River. The Wrigley Building is a Chicago original designed by Graham, Anderson, Probst & White and is the gateway between Michigan Avenue, the Loop and River North. Standing at 425 feet tall it's using the shape of the Giralda tower of Seville's Cathedral combined with French Renaissance details and is one of Bart's favorite spots to take his couples for engagement and wedding portraits. It's unique architecture allows it to be photographed from different angles and at different times of day and night. It's white terracotta walls serve as unique and timeless background for portrait sessions. Since a lot of Bart's clients are of European descent (Greek and Italian) and Bart being European himself it makes for a perfect spot to add the cultural element to his photography. What makes this spot even more attractive is its close proximity to Bart's other favorite spots, like the Michigan Avenue intersection, Chicago River Walk and Trump Tower columns.

Engagement session is a big part of the wedding photography coverage. It creates memorable and beautiful images of the couple that can be used, among other things, for the save the date cards and display prints at the wedding. It also serves as a great way of getting to know the photographer who on the other hand will learn about couple's personalities, likes and dislikes. After all, just like the bridal party, the photographer will be with the couple for the majority of their wedding day.

This engagement image was taken with a Nikon wide angle lens on a full frame D4 body. Light was added from the right in order to make it more favorable to the bride-to-be.
